In this post, I will explain the most important words about my topic. I know that most of us would know them because it’s general culture but some of them you may not know what is their meaning. The Holocaust has added enormously to our contemporary lexicon. The names of camps, slogans, and terms coined by Hitler, words to describe terrifying to new events

Holocaust: Derived from the Greek holokauston which meant a sacrifice totally burned by fire. Today, the term refers to the systematic planned extermination of about six million European Jews and millions of others by the Nazis between 1933-1945.

CONCENTRATION CAMPS: Immediately upon their assumption of power on January 30, 1933, the Nazis established concentration camps for the imprisonment of all "enemies" of their regime: actual and potential political opponents (e.g. communists, socialists, monarchists), Jehovah's Witnesses, gypsies, homosexuals, and other "asocials." Beginning in 1938, Jews were targeted for internment solely because they were Jews. Before then, only Jews who fit one of the earlier categories were interned in camps.
